Littelfuse Announces Low-Capacitance TVS Diode Arrays to Clamp Voltages Similar to Similar Silicon Solutions

Littelfuse , a global leader in circuit protection, today announced the release of its low-capacitance SP3014 series of TVS diode arrays ( SPATM diodes) to protect electronic devices that may experience destructive electrostatic discharge (ESD). The SP3014 series integrates two channels of low capacitance steering diodes and Zener diodes to safely absorb the highest levels of repeated ESD shocks in the IEC61000-4-2 international standard without compromising performance. Compared to similar silicon solutions, the SP3014 series reduces clamping voltage by more than 50%, protecting the most vulnerable integrated circuits from damage or premature failure due to electrical transients. Low load capacitance makes it ideal for protecting high-speed signal lines such as USB 2.0, USB 3.0, and 1Gb Ethernet. Extremely low dynamic resistance keeps transient overvoltages at a safe level, protecting the most sensitive and advanced chipsets from ESD damage or premature failure. Typical applications include ultrabooks, notebook computers, LCD TVs, set-top boxes, Ethernet switches, external hard drives, smartphones, automotive electronics, and more.
