With the large use of high-power LED light sources, the technical requirements for LED drivers are increasing. This article provides LED lighting applications for 18W external power supplies. The CSC6562A is used in a flyback converter circuit controlled by a critical current mode control IC for high efficiency and high performance. At the same time, various protections are provided to improve the reliability of the drive.

Flyback AC-DC conversion is still a more attractive solution than secondary conversion in terms of cost and power density. The flyback AC-DC converter converts the AC input voltage directly into a DC output voltage and does not require a front regulator, as shown in Figure 1:
