Mobile phone video monitoring and remote control system based on 3G network and its application

1 Introduction

With the continuous advancement of the 3G network construction of the three major domestic telecommunications operators, there are more and more mobile phone products based on high-speed mobile network applications, and one of the very distinctive ones is mobile phone video surveillance.

After breaking through the bottleneck of network bandwidth limitation, mobile video surveillance has good video clarity and real-time performance. It not only has the image function of fixed-line video surveillance, but also fundamentally satisfies users to remotely watch real-time surveillance video anytime, anywhere The demand has the following advantages: the advantage of anytime, anywhere, realizes AnyTIme, AnyWhere, AnyDevice (any time, any place, any device) video surveillance; cost advantage, mobile phone is a "everyone has" terminal, as The video surveillance client is a kind of reuse, which reduces the user's investment. In addition, the mobile phone is cheaper than the PC and has a good cost advantage; the security advantage, the uniqueness of the mobile phone number and the serial number of the mobile device can be used for the user Strictly unique authentication, easy for user management.

With the continuous enhancement of performance, 3G mobile phones have gradually become a kind of "universal terminal". The mobile phone can not only be used for video browsing, collecting real-time images, video, audio, and then sent to the platform for processing, storage, comparison, but also to further improve the application efficiency and scope of the mobile phone. In addition, using the mobile phone as a control terminal to realize remote MachineToMachine-style device control is also one of the goals of mobile phone video monitoring and remote control.

2 System architecture of intelligent mobile phone video monitoring integrated system

As mentioned earlier, 3G mobile phones will be used as terminals or clients to realize various functions such as video browsing, control signaling, video or audio acquisition, and image acquisition according to different user needs and scenarios. After the equipment is configured with different capabilities by the platform, different application purposes can be formed. Overall, various applications based on the 3G mobile network can be performed under the unified system architecture shown in FIG. 1.

Unified architecture

From a structural point of view, it is similar to a fixed-line network video surveillance system. The system is divided into three parts: front-end equipment, central management platform, and client equipment.

The front-end equipment can be further divided into: camera class, which can include analog dome camera, analog gun machine, and IP dome camera, gun machine; coding and storage server class, can be divided into DVS, DVR, NVS, NVR, etc .; sensor class such as Infrared sensors, window magnetic sensors, door magnetic sensors, flame sensors, temperature sensors, etc .; other collection equipment, such as mobile phones, sound collection equipment; alarm equipment, such as alarm switches, sirens, alarm horns, etc.

The central platform equipment includes servers for business management, streaming media distribution, video transcoding, video storage, alarm processing, signaling gateway, SMS / MMS gateway, and intelligent analysis comparison.

The main functions of the client device are monitoring video browsing, identification result retrieval and viewing, front-end device function configuration, etc. The specific device form can be monitoring PC, video matrix, video wall or other mobile terminals such as mobile phone, PDA, PPC, etc.

From the above architecture, we can see that 3G mobile phones have collection, browsing capabilities and removable features. Therefore, in the entire architecture, 3G mobile phones can be used as front-end devices for real-time video collection and picture uploading, as well as monitoring The client performs real-time video browsing, alarm viewing, intelligent analysis and control result viewing.

3 3G mobile phone functions in typical applications

Due to the diversity of 3G mobile phone functions, the device roles it plays in different applications are also different. The following describes the functions of 3G mobile phones in different applications according to different scenarios.

3.1 Surveillance video browsing

Taking China Telecom's cdma2000EV-DORevA network as an example, its single carrier frequency downlink and uplink peak values are 3.1 Mbit / s and 1.8 Mbit / s respectively, based on high-bandwidth mobile video browsing and wireless with higher resolution and frame rate Real-time video uploading is possible. At present, the standard video encoding format of China Telecom ’s wireless global eye mobile phone video browsing product that is officially commercialized is H.264 baseline profile level-1.2 (QVGA: 320 × 240 @ 20), which basically meets users ’high real-time performance and high clarity Degree of mobile video browsing needs.

In the mobile video browsing application, if the real-time video is collected by a device for PC or TV wall browsing, it is generally necessary to call the central platform "video transcoding server" to transcode the CIF / D1 resolution and high frame rate video stream into H.264 format small code stream; when the current device is directly encoded and uploaded by the small code stream or has the capability of small code stream, you need to call the central platform "video forwarding server" to forward the video to the mobile phone.

3.2 Application of using 3G mobile phone as the front end of video acquisition

In the mobile phone real-time video collection application, the platform business management server can assign a uniform access ID according to the mobile phone number. For mobile phones with high-quality cameras and strong real-time video encoding capabilities, as a video capture front-end access platform To a certain extent, it has become a front-end video capture device consistent with the IP camera function. When the mobile phone turns on its own camera and uses the 3G network uplink for real-time video uploading, its video is forwarded by the video forwarding server, which can be accessed by a variety of methods, such as a TV wall, a monitoring C machine, and other mobile phones as video browsing clients. Wait for multiple terminals to view in real time.

In addition, on the basis of a dedicated mobile phone client, users can also use the mobile phone as a data upload channel and use USB cables to connect their own devices such as digital cameras, digital video cameras, external storage, etc. to achieve high-speed and wireless upload of various other data. Therefore, the application range of using the mobile phone as a data uploading terminal is greatly expanded.

3.3 Home security based on mobile phone alarm and control

Another typical application of the intelligent mobile phone monitoring integrated system based on the 3G network is a home security system that superimposes a variety of alarms and remote home equipment control on the basis of mobile phone video monitoring. The specific equipment and processes are shown in Figure 2 .

Specific equipment and process diagram

The system equipment configuration is consistent with the overall system architecture shown in Figure 1, and is divided into three parts: front end, platform, and client. The front end includes cameras (gun-shaped, spherical cameras), various sensors (sensors such as door magnets, window magnets, infrared, smoke, gas, etc.), controlled home appliances (lamps, refrigerators, water heaters, etc.), video storage servers and remote control of home appliances The platform needs to use the video forwarding and signaling control server to realize the forwarding of video and control signals; the client realizes the purpose of remote viewing and control. The functions of the system include but are not limited to the following aspects.

(1) Real-time video viewing of home security cameras

After installing spherical and gun-shaped cameras in the living room, kitchen and other rooms, residents can view their real-time video status at any time through the mobile client. At the same time, residents can authorize relatives and friends, so that they also have the right to watch videos. In addition, any PC resident and authorized user who can access the Internet can also view video in real time. The front end of the system also has a dedicated large-capacity video storage device for camera video storage.

(2) Real-time alarm on home condition

Various sensors such as door magnets, window magnets, infrared, smoke, gas, etc. can be installed in the living room, kitchen, doorway, etc. When the sensor finds that the doors and windows are damaged, someone breaks in, a fire in the home, a gas leak, and the camera detects suspicious persons through the motion detection function, it immediately sends an alarm to the resident's mobile phone through the platform (the alarm can be pre-recorded voice, SMS, MMS, etc.) , The resident can immediately understand the specific alarm type information, and can watch the real-time video status shot by the camera through the client.

(3) Real-time control of home equipment

Through a PC client or mobile phone connected to the Internet, residents can not only view their real-time temperature and see the video, but also switch on and off the sensors, and control various household appliances in real time through the "home appliance remote controller", such as Turn on and off the chandelier, control the water heater to burn water, turn on the TV, etc.

3.4 Mobile phone real-time information collection and upload and central comparison alarm system

As shown in the system architecture shown in Figure 1, using a mobile phone as a real-time information acquisition and upload device to upload the collected images, audio, video, etc. to the platform for detection and comparison, it can achieve rapid and accurate forensics, positioning and investigation The purpose can be applied to various aspects of urban security management. If the patrol officer finds a suspected stolen vehicle, the license plate image is taken with the mobile phone and sent to the platform for license plate recognition and comparison with the license plate database. If the platform confirms that it is illegal or the stolen vehicle, it can immediately notify the patrol officer to take action; when the patrol officer finds a suspicious person , You can use your mobile phone to quickly capture the image of its face and send it to the suspect database of the platform for feature matching and comparison, then you can determine the criminal. At present, with the improvement of mobile phone performance, feature extraction of license plates and face images can also be collected on the mobile phone side. Only sending the feature to the platform can further shorten the comparison time and improve the efficiency of public security management.

4Interface of intelligent mobile phone video monitoring system

4.1 Real-time video request, browsing and control

When using a 3G mobile phone as a video browsing terminal, the mobile phone and the video transcoding server or video forwarding server are equivalent to the client and server form, and the interface can be simplified RTSP standard interface to achieve RFC2326 "RTSP" Appendix D about customers The minimum requirements for basic playback on the client and server. The messages that must be implemented between the mobile phone and the server include DESCRIBE messages, SETUP messages, PLAY messages, and TEARDOWN messages. Messages that can be implemented include PAUSE messages and OPTION messages.

4.2 Real-time video and other data upload

When using a mobile phone as a video acquisition terminal for video uploading or using a mobile phone as an upload channel for other data with large data volume, standard SIP messages can be used for authentication, authentication and conversation between the mobile phone and the platform. Establish a UDP connection to complete the data transfer.

4.3 PTZ and remote device control

When using a mobile phone as a control terminal, there is a similar interface protocol when controlling the PTZ camera or remotely controlling devices in smart home applications. In order to achieve consistency and scalability, standard SIP and extended SIP + XML can be used as the control and information exchange interface protocol for mobile phones and front-end devices.

5 Conclusion

At present, the relevant technologies involved in mobile video surveillance and remote control applications based on 3G networks are mature. The biggest problem faced by the current scale promotion is that users still lack specific concepts for mobile video browsing, uploading, and control applications. In addition, based on The application of mobile phones must also be combined with the needs of specific industries or households, and the lack of relevant application experience has also hindered its promotion. We believe that to promote it quickly, we should first use specific scene applications in certain industries as a breakthrough to form a demonstration effect, so as to quickly increase user acceptance and recognition.
