Maxim Introduces High Voltage and High Efficiency Drive Series

Maxim introduces a family of 2MHz, high-brightness (HB) LED drivers with integrated MOSFETs and high-side current-sense circuitry: MAX16822A/B and MAX16832A/C*. These highly integrated devices reduce the size and complexity of semiconductor lighting (SSL) designs. And cost, simplifying the implementation of green lighting technology. Not only that, but the device also provides the high conversion efficiency features and advanced thermal management features that are critical in LED system design. The MAX16822A/B and MAX16832A/C are ideal for MR16, MR111, and other architectural lighting, as well as automotive front and rear lighting (RCL, DRL, and fog/low beam). The latest hot chip:

TDA7318DMC100EL16DIRF830SBA6858FPOPA340PA30CPQ150UAA4000AD8313ARM-REEL7M48T86-MH1MJE13005 This series of high voltage, switch mode HBLED drivers can output 18W (MAX16822A/B) or 36W (MAX16832A/C) power with 95% efficiency, driving up to 15 series white LEDs. MAX16822A/B can be LED The string provides up to 350mA of continuous DC current and the MAX16832A/C provides up to 700mA of continuous DC current. The device provides an analog dimming function that controls the LED current through an external DC voltage and PWM dimming input for a wide range of brightness level control. These HBLED drivers require only a few external passive components to complete the design of low-cost LED driver circuits. The device integrates a 65V switching MOSFET with RDSON of 0.85Ω (MAX16822A/B) and 0.45Ω (MAX16832A/C), eliminating the need for external power transistors. In addition, high-side current sensing and integrated current-setting circuitry further reduce the number of external components required while maintaining ±3% LED current accuracy. The hysteretic buck mode allows the device to drive long strings of HBLEDs with a DC input voltage of up to 65V. This control method eliminates the need for control loop compensation, simplifying design and greatly reducing component count. The MAX16822A/B and MAX16832A/C are capable of maintaining LED current ripple at 10% (A version) and 30% (B and C versions) without the use of an output capacitor.

In addition, the device supports switching frequencies up to 2MHz, allowing the use of small size components. The MAX16822A/B and MAX16832A/C feature a thermal shutdown circuit that protects the device from overheating. The 200mV high-side current detection greatly reduces the voltage drop across the external sense resistor, which in turn reduces power consumption. In addition, the device provides analog thermal foldback protection that works with an external negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor to reduce the LED current when the temperature of the LED string exceeds a specified threshold. The reliable HBLED driver family operates from an input voltage range of 6.5V to 65V and operates over the -40°C to +125°C automotive temperature range. The MAX16822A/B is available in a Pb-free, 8-pin SO package. The MAX16832A/C is available in an 8-pin SO package with an exposed pad. The MAX16822A/B starts at $0.99, and the MAX16832A/C starts at $1.31 (1000 sheets, FOB USA).

Polycrystalline Solar Panel

Polycrystalline silicon solar panels are a common type of Solar Panel whose main function is to convert sunlight into electricity. The following are the main functions of polycrystalline silicon solar panels:

Photoelectric conversion: Polycrystalline silicon solar panels are made of polycrystalline silicon material, and their surface is covered with multiple silicon crystals, which can absorb photons in sunlight. When the photons are absorbed, they release electrons from the silicon crystal, creating an electric current. This process, called photoelectric conversion, converts the energy of sunlight into electricity.

Power generation: The current and voltage generated by polycrystalline silicon solar panels through photoelectric conversion can be used for power generation. Multiple solar panels are combined into a solar module, and a solar array can be formed when used on a large scale. These battery modules and arrays can absorb large amounts of sunlight and convert it into electricity to supply the grid or be used to power equipment.

Renewable energy: Solar panels use sunlight to generate electricity and are therefore renewable energy. Sunlight is free, widely distributed, and not exhausted, so the use of solar panels helps reduce dependence on traditional energy sources, lowers carbon emissions, and is environmentally friendly.

Noiseless: Solar panels have no mechanical moving parts, so there is no noise during the power generation process. This makes them ideal for use in residential areas, schools, and other places where a quiet environment is required.
