Dalian Dapinjia Group Launches New Automotive LED Headlight Solution Based on Infineon Products

On August 11, 2017, Dalian United Holdings, a leading semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia-Pacific market, announced that its product is based on Infineon's next-generation driver chip LITIX Power Flex TLD5541- 1QV's new automotive LED headlight solution.

Compared with halogen headlights and xenon headlights, automotive LED headlights are gradually accepted by the market because of their high brightness, low power consumption, long life, small size and fast response. And with the mature LED technology, lower prices, and domestic demand for energy saving and emission reduction, automotive exterior lighting will gradually move closer to LED overall lighting. On the power LED, the pulse width modulation (PWM) scheme is superior to the linear driver scheme for the consideration of luminous efficiency.

LITIX Power Flex is a line of high power LED drivers designed by Infineon for automotive headlamps. These devices offer flexible DC/DC drive solutions for LED systems designed for powers up to 50 W or higher. The device's application design is flexible, including strings up to 55 V, a string of medium-power LEDs, or a small number of LEDs with currents up to 3 A or higher.

This drive solution uses the Infineon LITIX Power Flex TLD5541-1QV+ePower Microcontroller TLE9845QX. The TLD5541-1QV is the first product of the new multi-topology DC/DC controller series LITIX Power Flex. It is an H-Bridge DC-DC pulse width adjustment type of lamp control solution that supports both constant current and constant voltage control. The buck-boost topology is implemented by an external H-Bridge circuit to control the load LEDs. The TLD5541-1QV features Auto Spread Spectrum, Soft Start, higher efficiency (96%), and Lower System Costs.

In addition, the TLD5541-1QV integrates protection functions such as over-temperature, over-voltage and no-load. The Microcontroller can control and diagnose the load through the SPI bus. The TLE9845QX uses the Cortex-M0 core and integrates LIN+power switches. , is a high-performance microprocessor designed specifically for automotive applications.
