According to the survey results, each family owns at least one smartphone. Most families have 2-3 smartphones, half of them have tablet computers, and 73.3% of the respondents’ smartphones are turned on 24 hours a day. Currently, family gatherings are not a meeting between people. The party mode has changed to “person+smartphone+peopleâ€. 43.0% of respondents said that they will each play a smartphone or tablet at a family party.
The survey results also show that it is difficult for people to let go of their mobile electronic products when they are dealing with their spouse. Nearly half of the respondents (47.2%) still use smart phones/tablets when accompanying their spouse after work. Among the married respondents, more than 60% (60.1%) of the respondents felt that the spouse was playing smart phones/tablets for too long. Mobile electronic products have become the "electronic rivals" between husband and wife. When people indulge in the palm world, they can not help but ignore the needs and feelings of their partners. Respondents who use mobile electronics while accompanying a spouse have significantly lower marital well-being than those who did not and sometimes used mobile electronics when accompanying their spouse. In addition, the overuse of mobile electronics also reduces the quality of parent-child relationships. 26.3% of parents may still use smart phones when they are with their children after work on the weekdays, and this percentage rose to 33.4% on holidays. 36.6% of respondents sometimes use smart phones/tablets as tools to appease their children.
The report warns that the use of mobile electronic products before bedtime is very detrimental to the quality of sleep. 62.8% of the respondents took their mobile electronic products to bed every day. 50.3% of people continue to play mobile electronic products after turning off the lights every night. The survey found that people who are accustomed to playing smart phones before going to bed have more difficulty falling asleep. 28.1% of people in this group fell asleep more than 60 minutes, which is 5 times that of those who didn't go to bed with smartphones/tablets.
According to the report, mobile electronics products are not right and wrong. The key lies in how we use them. We should use mobile electronics to make family relationships more intimate rather than more alienated. In this regard, relevant experts reminded that to enhance the feelings between partners, it is necessary to properly "recharge addiction" to mobile electronic products, isolate external stimuli and plan exclusive intimate time; parents need to control the use of electronic products, choose to browse content, and increase the number of children. Communicate and educate children to think critically about information from mobile electronic products and not receive them all.
